Chapter 1: The IRS targets Tea Party groups eliciting outcry from GOP and call for action by Obama The IRS admitted that it had been inappropriately scrutinizing Tea Party groups applying for non-profit status. As a result, some groups have promised to sue. Meanwhile, the president today said it was unacceptable and that it would be investigated. We get the lowdown from Steve Dennis, CQ Roll Call White House reporter. Chapter 2: The U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision today on Monsanto, whether or not the company can force farmers to discard patented seeds after their first use. When supplying such seeds to farmers, Monsanto requires they sign an agreement that says they will not cultivate new seeds from crops they grow. One such farmer did not adhere to this requirement and was sued by Monsanto and the case went all the way to the Supreme Court which ruled today for Monsanto in a unanimous decision saying the company had a right to protect its patent and the farmer had violated it. We talk to Bill Freese, Science Policy Analyst for the Center for Food Safety.
