Best selling author R.Y. Swint will be on "16barz" to discuss her book titled "The Other Side of 30" which explores the guilty pleasures of being a beautiful single woman in her thirties. R.Y Swint has enjoyed creative writing since early childhood, and attributed her writing style to many influences, including classic movies of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, as well as various poets specifically her late uncle Harvey G. Penn JR., and fiction writers. She also likes to draw from themes she finds in her favorite music, including soul, R&B, rock and roll, country, rap,early hip-hop, classical and whatever moves her. Swint is current serving in the U.S. Army. The Other Side of 30, her debut novel, is set at the Atlanta military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), one of her previous duty stations. She is a native of Rome, Ga, and a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Colorado Technical University.
