Black Atticus is from Knoxville TN and has been a hip hop junkie as long as he can remember. He blames his mother for playing 45s of the Beastie Boys (Brass Monkey) and Fresh Prince (Touch of Jazz) early in the morning before she went to work, for his addiction. He started out like most emcees,freestyling to himself and friends, but it wasnt until he hooked up with a group (The Fluid Engineerz) in 2002, did he start creating music more seriously. Since the groups break up in 2004,Atticus has developed hi s craft of words through slam poetry (hes been a nationally ranked slam poet for six years now) and is currently the longest standing voice for Knoxvilles Edutainment Hip Hop Show(on 90.3FM WUTK- THE ROCK).In the last two years, hes joined forces with THE THEORIZT (www.thetheorizt.com), has become one of two lead vocalist,and also has merged talents with a California producer, Average Thought,who remembered Atticus from the Love For This single, dropped by Fluid Engineerz a decade prior; and they are currently forming a duet team called "Invincible Sock Monkeys".
